Books for Babies

Reading to your baby is one of the best activities you can share.

It is widely recognised that the most intense period of brain development in the life of a child is from 0 to 3. Reading with your baby assists language development, recognition of facial expressions and will help foster a lifelong love of books. We have a lovely selection of books for you and your baby to enjoy together.

Peek a Boo! Nursery Games has a compilation of songs, rhymes and games. The interactive text encourages movement and actions. The special, shared time together reading this book will creates happy memories for you and your child.

Ten Little Fingers is another colourful and interactive board book for baby that encourages fun with songs and rhymes. Nursery rhymes are full of high frequency words and repetition to aid literacy. There’s also Row, Row, Row Your Boat in this series with more nursery rhymes and songs to share with baby.

Books also provide a tactile experience for baby and Wash Day! has a piece of fabric attached to the cover that becomes a prop as you read the book. Baby will help tuck in the toys to bed during this fun book.

Similarly, Tucking In! From the Just Like Me! Series of books has flaps that baby can lift and touch. The interactive flaps have an emphasis on feelings and things that babies like.

Bib on, Bunny! is another fun book that stimulates the senses. In this book, it is bunny’s mealtime and he wants to chat! Bunny takes the form of a finger puppet attached to the book and parents can create their own dialogue, as well as read the story.
